SMLive: What was your motivation behind creating your own business?

Sonya: My father instilled the entrepreneurial spirit in me and my siblings. I worked in the corporate world for over 20 years in the banking and financial industry. I have to admit that I never imagined working for myself, nor can I say that I had any desire to start my own business, but God; he had His own plans for my life.

SMLive: What do you do to keep a positive mindset when the mood of working is not so favorable?

Sonya: I turn on my praise music in my office and have myself a praise party. Other times I go right to the Word of God, reading the Word. Reading the Word helps me refocus, and it encourages me.

SMLive: Why do you think setting goals are important?

Sonya: Without a plan, it’s hard to know where you’re going, what challenges you might face, and how you will overcome those challenges.

The Word of God says, “write your visions out and make it plain,” I encourage every business owner to have a business plan.

SMLive: Every person on life symbolizes something and every “Legacy” leaves a message. At the end, what would you want your life to symbolize and your “Legacy” to stand for?

Sonya: That I was a good, loving, and caring person who did whatever she could do to make a difference in other people's lives.
